Álbum debut(2004) de esta banda canadiense de indie rock que tiene la particularidad de incluir instrumentos un tanto extraños para el mundo del rock más tradicional. Es así como junto a las tradicionales guitarra, bajo y batería, conviven elementos como viola, violín, cello y harpa, que tienen no poca importancia en la construcción de Funeral.
Funeral debe su nombre a que varios de los miembros del grupo perdieron a familiares cercanos previo al nacimiento de este LP. Sonoramente, The Arcade Fire recuerdan a Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, y a Broken Social Scene, otra numerosa banda canadiense.
En este disco se recoge un tono un tanto sombrío que sin embargo da lugar a la luminosidad, y a temas brillantemente galopantes y pegajosos como "Rebellion (Lies)".
